The Lamothe family detailed in this web site are Jean Cauchon and Jeanne Abraham descendant's. These pioneers emigrated from Dieppe in France. They established themselves on Orleans island for many generations where some of their descendants took the nickname Lamothe. This nickname will be kept as a surname by our ancestors.
